RESIDENTIAL / ADU

MODULAR HOUSING PRODUCT LINE
Northern California · Professional work, 2017–2019

Five single-family models and two ADUs, designed as a product line for rapid modular construction — floor plans engineered for affordability and repeatable factory production. As an Architect, I built the workflow that carried the line from design through fabrication: customized tools moving drawings and data cleanly between the design lead, in-house engineers, and contractors.

THREE GUIDES

People usually call us with the same questions. What will it cost, how long will it take, and do we need an architect at all. These guides answer part of that before you spend anything.
Request the guide you want and we will send it over.

#02 ADU - DETACHED/ATTACHED/CONVERSION

What each ADU type means. The California rules that require a city to approve one that meets the standards. How far it has to sit from the property line, how tall it can be, fire zones and parking. Then the permit steps in order.

Second edition, September 2026, updated for the California ADU law changes that took effect on 1 January 2026.

#03 WILDFIRE HOME CHECKLIST

If you just learned your home is in a fire hazard zone, or you are building or buying in one and wondering about the risk, this is where to start.

The checklist walks you around the property, starting with the house and working out to the property line, and tells you what to look for and what to fix first (most of it costs little). It also lists the upgrades that count toward an insurance discount, and the questions to ask before you replace a roof or windows, remodel, build or buy.

For the background (the new fire code, the updated maps, and what recent research found), read our wildfire guide for California homes.

First edition, September 2026.
